Ubisoft announced that Watch Dogs will introduce a mechanism of "player" invasion "that will allow other players to join in our single player game; the mechanisms will be implemented are not clear but it appears for now that other players may interfere with our world by changing certain parameters such as adding obstacles, hack devices and so on. Players will be able to do this not only from their consoles, but also through a smartphone app that will enable you to enter the worlds of other players and interfere by changing the parameters.

The Publisher, however, wanted to reassure those who might think that this feature implies an obligation to be always connected, explaining that the title will be playable offline, quietly and imagine that the feature of "player" invasion "will be turned off by those who don't want outside interference.
