Red Dead Redemption 2: what have we learned from the new trailer

The trailer for Red Dead Redemption II released yesterday by Rockstar Games did discuss a lot fans, and beyond the wonderful atmospheres and settings even left some information more or less explicit about the new title western. See them together.

First, although the trailer doesn't say so explicitly, we understand that it is a prequel to the first Red Dead Redemption . This is because it shows the main character, the outlaw Arthur Morgan, joined the Dutch Van der Linde. Those who played the first game, you will recall that this was the band that had played for a time the protagonist John Marston, and that when they carried out the events of the game had now dissolved. Not only that, the movie shows us Dutch same looks definitely younger and elegant than the 50-year-old shabby that we saw in the first game.

All this tells us that the title will take place before RDR, probably 10-15 years, when the gang of Van der Linde was still in business. Whereupon emerges a second question: we will also meet John Marston? This for now we don't know, and there's no sign of him in the trailer. The game could be settled before its entry into the gang, and could perhaps make an appearance. But it could also be possible, however, that it would be a great protagonist of the story, maybe controllable by the player along with Arthur as seen with multiple characters of GTA V.

The trailer also shows us that Arthur Morgan does not seem to be driven by high motives as Marston, committed to save his family in the first title: here we see him act as a debt collector for the Dutch, with often violent methods.

A final clue comes from a short sequence which sees three men prowling in a swampy area with crocodiles: This suggests much to the bayou, Mississippi River delta, the interpretive and this could mean that the map of the game will include a town like New Orleans. This reminds us a map leaked over a year ago, in which it appeared Louisiana area with New Bordeaux, namely New Orleans counterpart in the world of Mafia III , other title published by Take-Two Interactive along with the Rockstar titles. That the map is confirmed, revealing to us so that Red Dead Redemption II will take place in the same universe of Mafia III , but many years before? It would be a very interesting development.

One last piece of information is also on the platform on which the trailer, consisting of sequences in-engine, was caught: the Twitter channel PlayStation revealed that the footage was captured on PS4, PS4 probably better to show Pro .

Stay tuned for more information about the game!
