Sony will soon begin public testing of Exchange Online on PSN ID function

After we reported, last week , the probable arrival of the long-awaited change username on PSN function, Sony has finally officially announced that from the beginning of 2019 all can benefit from this possibility: the first change will be free, while the next will cost 4.99 Euro Plus users and 9.99 Euros for others. But, if you want, you can test it even before the new year.

Sony in fact tells us that by the end of November will begin testing publicly this feature, with a beta that will be part of PlayStation Preview Program and will be available for customers who have pre-register as a tester for earlier beta versions of System Software PlayStation 4.

Here you also learn how to work the system. When you change your online ID, you will have the ability to view your previous ID and your new ID, so that your friends can recognize you. Once you decide to display the old ID (or not), you cannot change it after you follow the steps for modifying the online ID.

This feature is compatible with the PS4 games originally published after 1 January 2018 and a vast majority of PS4 games most played games that were released before this date. However, note that not all games and applications for PS4, PS3 and Vita are guaranteed to support changing the online ID, and users may occasionally experience problems or errors in certain games. If for any reason you have problems after you change your ID, you can restore the original ID for free at any time (you can cancel only once during the programme guide). Restoring an old ID will solve most of the problems caused by changing the ID. Also, when this feature is officially launched, will be provided on PlayStation.com a list of compatible games published before 1 January 2018 as a reference before you make a change.
