After announcing it during the opening events of Gamescom 2019,which is taking place in these hours in Cologne, Activision has just made available on the PlayStation 4 Store the download of the Public Alpha of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. During this trial phase, which the developer will grant to the general public so as to test the tightness of the servers and to begin collecting the first feedback, we will have access to the great novelty of the shooter, the 2vs2 mode.

As announced at the conference, the Alpha will take place in the game's 5 smallest maps, designed specifically for this new mode. The developer also clarified that all players who have access to the PlayStation Network will be able to play the game; you do not need to have a PlayStation Plus subscription.

We also inform you that the installation file will weigh on your Hard Disks about 36 GB and that it will give access to the servers starting tomorrow, August 23; Alpha phase will end on Sunday 25th. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will return in September with a full-bodied Beta phase - which will also include a few days of cross-play testing with PC and Xbox One - before officially launching on October 25 on PlayStation 4.
