New Mass Effect: An image shows the Krogan Civil War
The illustration, titled "Civil War", shows a Krogan in combat armor, in a scenario that suggests a setting following the events of the original trilogy.
Solving the enigma required a considerable collective effort. It all started with an enigmatic post on X that reported an "Intercepted Transmission" and a clearly broken link, containing the code "[ERROR A20N7S12]". At the same time, a post on the official blog hid the word "KROGAN" among the italicized letters. Fans quickly realized that the two messages were connected: the error in the link was actually an encryption key (with A=20, N=7 and S=12). By applying the same cipher to the word "KROGAN", a number was obtained: 411826207.
By inserting this numerical sequence directly into the URL of the official Mass Effect website, we got https://masseffect.com/411826207, a link to a really working page that revealed the image of the Krogan (above). Obviously BioWare has not provided any official explanation on the meaning of the "Civil War" shown, leaving fans with any speculation.
The fact that the studio is still sticking to this type of teasing, rather than an actual trailer, seems to confirm rumours that development is still far from complete. Rumors speak of a still "prudent" production phase, with the main team focused on the quality of the script and RPG mechanics. After all, after the failure of Anthem and the difficulties encountered by Dragon Age: The Veilguard, BioWare the studio knows it is playing a lot. So we just have to wait, hoping that next year's N7 Day will finally be the opportunity to see the game in action!
