Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, scheduled from 5 to August 21, 2016, Blizzard decided to celebrate in true competitive spirit Overwatch . In fact, during the next three weeks, through the new event Summer Games you can get over 100 new objects, special seasonal Chests collect cosmetics and challenge your friends to a futuristic football game with the new Brawl: Lúcioball! To follow all the details:

AIM FOR GOLD

As of today (and for the duration of the event), all treasure chests you get or you will have a new look, and this won't be the only change!

Within these Chests you will find several new cosmetic items: spray, emote, victorious poses, introductions of highlight, icons and special models, all themed games. Although you cannot buy seasonal chests with Credits, those that you will get will contain at least one subject of the 2016 Summer Games collection.

All objects of the summer games that will unlock is yours forever, but the collection will be withdrawn on 22 August, at the end of the event. So if you've got your eye on something in particular, there is no time to waste!

THE KICK OF VICTORY

The event of the summer games wouldn't be complete without a public demonstration of athletic ability, which is why we have introduced a new Brawl: Lúcioball! This futuristic interpretation of football provides frantic skirmishes 3v3 where the protagonist is our favorite Brazilian DJ.

The teams will face each other in the magnificent Estádio de Rãs, located in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. Equipped with jump platforms and walls for high speeds, this futuristic arena strengthens the ability of Lúcio, allowing players to use fists, slips, blocks and rebounds to achieve victory.

Each batch of Lúcioball lasts 4 minutes, and the team that scores the most goals in that time WINS!

About skills: understand how Lúcio interacts with the ball is crucial to win at Lúcioball. For this fight, the primary focus has been replaced with a melee attack with whom Lúcio punches the ball to dribble, pass and pull from short range. To throw the ball to the other side of the field, however, you can use the alternate fire sound explosion.

Unlike other game modes, Quick vibrations Lúcioball increase the speed only of Lúcio that emits (while maximum Volume enhances this increase as it normally does). Finally, its Ultra Sound Barrier draws to him the ball, wherever it is in the field.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN

This is our first seasonal event of Overwatch, but there will be others in the future. We are not yet ready to reveal our plans, but you can expect to see even chests, items, maps, and limited edition models in the future.
