Acquire today announced that action RPG Akiba's Beat will be released Friday May 19 in Europe for PS4 and PS life in physical and Digital Edition. All those preordering the physical version of Akiba's Beat will receive Pinkun mascot plush version game (only in participating stores and as long as stocks last). Here's the official press release with all the details on the new title.

Finally, Akiba's Beat! This game has generated a lot of confusion and we received a lot of questions, so I am here to clarify any doubt and give you all the information you need. Or at least I try!

First of all, let's talk about the release date! Now we have one: the game will be released Friday May 19 in Europe for PS4 and PS life in physical and Digital Edition. Another question that we receive often is, "How does it relate the story of this game to that of Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed, the former title of XSEED set to Akiba?". The answer is ... not connecting!

… Not entirely, anyway. The game is developed by the same studio, Acquire, and has the same setting, but everything else is completely new: the story, the characters, the style of play and even the tone!

For those who don't know (or do not understand from the title), Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed is a fighting game with a risqué released in 2014, where players have to undress the vampires to make them burn in the sunlight. The title has earned a well deserved PEGI 16 in Europe and is a fantastic game with a biting sense of humor and a good dose of irony in Japanese style. (it is still available for PS3 and PS4, PS Vita, don't pass this one up!)

Akiba's Beat, by contrast, is an action RPG (almost) entirely chaste that catapults players into underground surreal hues, to deal with monsters in fights to the death. Has a longer history and complex, a wider cast of characters all new, deeper combat system, a more subtle sense of humour (the social satire is always present, but is less direct), but above all there is no one to undress. No one! This title has obtained the European classification PEGI 12 and is decidedly less driven than its predecessor.

But this is of little consequence: despite the lack of nudity, this game offers an engrossing mystery story in which the protagonists, teenagers of the new millennium, seek to understand today's world. The setting is Tokyo's Akihabara district, nicknamed "electric city", known these days for its abundance of shops of video games and anime, cosplay restaurant, amusement arcades, thrift stores and shops specializing in electronics.

The characters, as you can imagine, are a mix of personalities that might meet in a place like this: a nerd an unemployed person who does not want to face up to its responsibilities, a foreigner from the air detachment, a positive disposition, a rookie from idol fanfiction emo that tease much, a "gothic lolita" comes from a privileged family, a former programmer weary of the world and lacking confidence in himself ... and finally the fundamental element of every self-respecting souls : the childhood friend with heart problems (this time in male version).

Ah, and it's all dubbed. Just Everything. All 22,000 lines spoken by more than 180 characters will be available in both English and Japanese.

And the cast of English voice actors includes talents such as Chris Patton, Erica Mendez, Tia Ballard, Robbie Daymond, direct TVF Leigh, And Woods, Ray Chase, Mick Wingert, Cristina Vee, Todd Haberkorn and Brittney Karbowski, for the first time in a video game in the role of the mascot Pinkun. And these are just some of the many talented voice actors!

Yes, it's a big game and we are working hard to ensure that your money is well spent, if you decide to purchase it. So now on pre-order! The streets of Akihabara await ...

We leave you to announce trailer, which shows us numerous gameplay sequences, followed by two images: enjoy!
