GdR Pyre arrives on PS4 on 25 July

Supergiant Games announced today that the GdR Pyre will be available on PS4 on July 25 at a price not yet been specified. For the occasion the development studio has released a long statement richly detailed unpublished on the game: I propose below along with two new images. Happy reading and enjoy!


1. Information about the game (with new details!)

Pyre is an RPG centered on a squad of characters, in which you drive a band of exiles to freedom through ancient competitions around some sort of vast and magical purgatory. Who will return laden with glory, and who will be forced to remain in exile until the end of his days? Find out in the single player campaign and, while you're at it, also won a Platinum trophy.

2. A new world from the creators of Bastion and transistors

You will meet many different playable characters, like these cute characters.

This is the world's original and largest ever created by the team of Supergiant! In the course of your journey through the Moors forget called "Downside" (below), you will meet many characters in search of their freedom. The characters of Pyre are all very different from each other. You will see massive demons, made stronger by continuing difficulties, or winged creatures who plot against their enemies from their nests. Each character has a unique story behind the Pyre just exile and what may await him if he ever manages to make it back.

3. A frantic three-on-three battles system

The centerpiece of Pyre is the ancient race called the rites. Every Ritual unfolds like an intense mystical battle, in which the goal is to extinguish the flame of opponents first. You have to take advantage of unexpected tactics and maneuvers to defeat your opponents ... or drive them directly with powerful mystical attacks.

You will face a large cast of different opponents in exciting challenges that each win (or lose!) will bring your exiles closer to enlightenment. Choose three exiles from your group for each Rite and equipaggiateli with powerful talismans and Masteries to victory.

4. A branched history without game over

Think about how many times you were stuck at some point in a game, continuing to try and try again just to see what happens next. It is sometimes funny but often paralyzes the story and it becomes frustrating.

We wanted to create a game that was a challenge and so addictive action, but without the fear and frustration of getting stuck. Get back on track after a defeat could be part of the journey, rather than being something that only happens in your head while you fix a game over screen. Therefore, one of the unique features of Pyre is the fact that you are never forced to lose any progress. You can win or not, your journey continues. The interactive story should touch you personally and no player will live in the same identical way.

5. Challenge a friend in versus mode

In addition to the single player campaign, Pyre includes a versus mode for two players locally, we revealed at last year's PlayStation Excperience.

The versus mode allows you to play against a friend (or an opponent controlled by the AI) in one of the game's frenetic battles rituals. You can train your trio of challengers by a cast of more than 20 characters encountered in the countryside and personalize your Rite by configuring the abilities of your characters, choosing from many arenas, each with unique special effects on the game, and in many other ways. We believe this greatly increases the replayability of the game and we had a blast playing it, trying all the combinations of characters that we have come to mind.

6. A presentation rich in atmosphere

During your quest for freedom, you will explore many different areas of the gaming world.

Every aspect of Pyre we will drag in his fantasy world, the incredible hand-drawn graphics to the evocative soundtrack, which includes more than 90 minutes of music composed by Darren Korb, our award winning composer and audio Director for Bastion and transistors.

We are developing Pyre for nearly three years. Now, we can say with confidence that is the game bigger and with more characters we've ever made and that provides much more freedom to play of his predecessors Bastion and transistors. With every game that we developed, we pushed further and further away from our habits, to create something new and original, since we believe that this will lead to a better experience for our players.
