A poignant trailer from Days Gone past tells us about Deacon St John
In a storyline of Days Gone " called" I Remember ", Deacon tries to confront his tragic past. Long before a global pandemic killed worldwide – transforming the Pacific Northwest in a frightening no-man's-land of Freakers, Rogues and those struggling to survive – the Farewell Wilderness preparing the ground for a story the unlikely romance between a biker outlaw and an extraordinary young woman from Seattle.
Farewell Wilderness is where they met, is where he taught her to ride, where he taught Botany – the main reason was in the wilderness. Is where he proposed. It is where, in a small church in the small town of Marion Forks, Deacon and Sarah were married in a single witness, longtime friend William "Boozer" Grey.
With one touch, charm and sincerity, Sarah Whitaker always managed to soften Deacon, allowing him to show off his awkward and tender side. He loved her so much that, a long time member of the MC of Mongrels, Deacon St. John chose to leave the MC and become a NOMAD for her so he can spend more time together, to share a life together.
Two years later, Sarah's gone. Deacon, now a drifter and bounty hunter, remained with only a photo to remind him of the woman he loved and the man she had helped him to become. In a brief moment of peace in the Church where they exchanged vows, Deacon reflects on all that has lost, the shell burnt the Church, a reflection of the man who became – Haggard, consumed and only.
But in the world of Days Gone, you're never alone for long. And in an odd way, Deacon seems to welcome the intrusion. Whatever, to help him forget his broken vow: " I promise to never leave you. "
