Bandai Namco has revealed that from today the digital pre-orders of Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycorishave started, which as a bonus will allow you to unlock 4 costumes from a Design Contest that took place last September.

The publisher also revealed some additional details about the game: in addition to their Sword Skill, players will also be able to use 8 different Sacred Art to end a fight and respond to enemy shots. Each Sacred Art has unique effects in battle and can be charged for even stronger attacks.

New playable characters have also been confirmed:

• Renly Synthesis Twenty-Seven:Is part of the Integrity Knights and fights against Dark Territory forces as leader of the Human Empire Army. Renly is the only character who can use the Twin-Wing Blades and especially the "Twin-Edged Wings".
• Sheyta Synthesis Twelve: Integrity Knight also known as Sheyta the Silent Taciturn, the Administrator gave Sheyta a divine weapon capable of tearing everything apart, the Black Lily Sword.

• Sortiliena Serlut: Graduated second in her Swordcraft Academy class, Sortiliena was served by Kirito who earned her respect. You use your own battle style with Claymore-like weapons.

Bandai also explains that Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will have post-launch support that will ensure a regular content update. Daily missions will allow players to earn CUBE tickets (which can be exchanged for CUBE). Each CUBE will randomly contain a number of items such as: costumes, weapon decorations, and more. Players will also be able to purchase these items directly through SAO Coins – a virtual currency available in the in-game store. Monthly Raids will also include 3 or 4 hours of gameplay to have fun with friends.
