John Sweeney, art director of Naughty Dog, also wanted to share some considerations that led to the final design of the console and controller:
When the opportunity was presented to create a PS4 Pro of The Last of Us Part II, I collaborated with our graphic designer, Angel Garcia, evaluating different ideas. And yet we kept coming back to the concept of Ellie's tattoo. By then it had become a symbol of the game itself and the community, like the Lights logo at the time of the first episode. It was now an obligatory choice, but we asked ourselves: can we engrave it? It had never been done before, so we didn't even know if it was possible. Thanks to the incredible dedication of the PlayStation teams, however, we have finally come to a solution.
The result seems to us something absolutely special. A design that honors the passion of our fans and of which we are very proud.
