Sony merges PS Plus and PS Now to create three levels of subscription service

Finally the announcement has arrived: the long-awaited subscription service "Spartacus" from Sony, which has the role of competing with the Xbox Game Pass, has been officially announced and will arrive from June. It's the new PlayStation Plus, which merges with PS Now to offer three different levels of service.

Before detailing the three levels, it is worth mentioning how the service, at the moment unfortunately does not appear too competitive with respect to the Game Pass: if it is true that numerous titles are planned from the Sony catalog, one of the features that have made the success of the Microsoft service is absent, namely the games on day one. The different levels of the new PS Plus therefore allow us to play with a catalog of titles already released, but does not contemplate the new releases. In addition, while many games will also be playable in streaming, this does not include PS5 titles that are for now only available for download.

However, there is a novelty compared to the Game Pass: in its most expensive level, the service will also offer timed trial versions of its titles, in a similar way to what happens with the EA Play service. Let's imagine that, in this way, Sony intends to make up for the lack of titles at D1: imagine for example the possibility of trying God of War: Ragnarok at launch for 10 hours, before deciding whether to buy it.

We now come to the three subscription levels, of which the cheapest is in fact identical to the current PS Plus:
