Mark Cerny reveals that PS4 Pro will have additional 1 GB DDR3 memory
"In the standard console, if you switch from an application such as Netflix, Netflix will continue to reside in a game, in system memory, even while you play. We use this architecture because it allows a very quick transition from one application to another. You don't need to upload anything, everything is already in memory. On PS4 Pro we do things differently: when you're not using Netflix, move it on slow and conventional memory to one gigabyte of DRAM. Use this free 8 GB almost 1 GB of the present strategy of GDDR5. We use 512 MB of this free space for games, which means that games can use 5.5 GB of memory instead of 5 GB, while the rest is for PS4 Pro interface in 4 k rather than 1080 p-that is what you see when you press the PS button. "
Please note that the arrival in stores of PS4 Pro is scheduled for November 10.
