Bryce Hsiao, head of global community Korean ROI Games developer, today announced that Black Day: A Labyrinth Named School will arrive soon in the West and will be released exclusively on PS4 console next August.

The story will take the young Hui-min Lee, a student at Yeondoo High School who finds himself trapped at night within the walls of the high school and falls into the mire of murderers possessed and malevolent spectres.

Probably, survival horror fans with a few years on the shoulders will already have heard of this title. Released only in Korea in 2001, the original White Day offered players a frightening adventure firsthand.

White Day: A Labyrinth Named School is a real remake of the original game: ROI Games has rebuilt the game from scratch, revising the aesthetics and the audio equipment, redesigning the game mechanics and introducing even a brand new character with a new storyline that can give life to the wealthiest (and most terrifying) edition of this legendary adventure.

Not only: in addition to including the chance to hear the English dialogue, the studio decided to pay homage to Western fans by localizing the game in French, Spanish, Italian, German and Russian.

When White Day: A Labyrinth Named School will land in the West, expect to find all the typical elements of the best survival horror, as a series of tricky puzzles, resources to recover health, rescue, object management, dynamic mechanical stealth and grim explorations in the light of a torch.

In addition, developers have introduced a system of terror that increments the level and frequency of ghostly attacks for those who choose to play at higher difficulties.

Here's a video and two images where you can get an idea of the game: enjoy!
