In the past months, since Fortnite arrived on Nintendo Switch, has created a buzz around the Sony's policy of preventing cross-play with other consoles; not only that, but many users who had played on PS4 have discovered they could not bring their own progress on other consoles (as was possible between Xbox One and PS4), thus being forced to start from scratch with new accounts.

This has generated a surge of outrage that grew more and more within a few weeks, even Nintendo and Microsoft to take the opportunity to exploit the situation at the level of marketing with tweets and trailer.

It seems though that this has finally persuaded Sony to change position on the subject: the home of Tokyo has announced that as of today the players PS4, Xbox One and Switch to Fortnite Battle Royale can finally play together; only: you can bring all your progress and digital purchases from PS4 to other consoles and vice versa, thus creating a single large room online for the game by Epic Games on all platforms.

Sony also explained that this move is not only limited to Fortnite , but that is being reviewed thoroughly its policy on cross-play: This means that soon as well as other games, such as Rocket League and Minecraft , will put together players of all consoles. A great victory for the world of video games!
