Capcom illustrates the gameplay of Pragmata, new details about the game
The story of Pragmata takes place in the near future, in an era in which humanity has discovered the "Lunam Ore" and developed the "Lunafilament", a material capable of replicating almost any object, as a sort of highly advanced 3D printing. The story kicks off when Earth suddenly loses contact with the lunar research station dedicated to this material. In this context we will be sent to the Moon as Hugh Williams, a member of an investigative team. Following a sudden lunar earthquake, however, Hugh will find himself separated from his team, injured and unconscious. To save him will be an enigmatic "Pragmata", a unique android created with the Lunafilament who has the appearance of a little girl and whom Hugh will nickname Diana. The two will then have to join forces to escape the station and return to Earth, facing the facility's crazed robots.
The gameplay of the title will be based on the close collaboration between the two protagonists, with mechanics that combine hacking and shooting combat. During the fights, when we aim at enemies, a panel will appear representing Diana's hacking ability. By maneuvering a cursor through this panel, we will have to violate the opponent's defenses to destroy their armor and thus create openings that will allow us, as Hugh, to hit the weak points with our arsenal. This system will push us to think quickly to overcome complex situations in the heat of battle.
Exploration will also require a lot of teamwork. Diana will be able to use her hacking skills even outside of combat to access the station's systems and remove the environmental barriers that block our way. In the meantime, with Hugh we will be able to use the thrusters of his suit to cross the different areas of the lunar base. By combining the skills of both characters we will be able to perform actions that would be impossible on our own.
Capcom also announced that the game's official website has been completely revamped and now includes a "Hacking Minigame" that allows you to preview a part of the combat system. Finally, it has been confirmed that PRAGMATA will be playable at Gamescom 2025 and other future events.
