Several years have passed since the release of Metro Exodus, and fans of the series are waiting to find out what the future of the Artyom saga holds. According to recent rumors, the wait may be almost over: the reveal of the next game developed by 4A Games would in fact be imminent.

The rumor was launched by user X AlexandreNGamR, who said that the presentation of a new Metro is expected next week. The rumor quickly gained credibility thanks to the intervention of the well-known and reliable insider NateTheHate, who not only confirmed the news by responding to the post with an unequivocal "it's true", but also reiterated in a separate discussion how these rumors are absolutely well-founded.

Although there is still no official announcement from the developers and it is always good to welcome this information with some caution, the time now seems ripe for a return to the post-apocalyptic world of the series. The last main chapter of the saga, Metro Exodus, dates back to 2019. Already in 2020 the team at 4A Games had reassured us, confirming that they were working to offer us a fantastic single-player experience deeply focused on the story, promising that we would be excited about their plans for the next chapter.

In 2023, moreover, the newspaper Insider Gaming had exclusively reported that the development of the sequel was already at a very advanced stage, even being entirely playable. There had been a short window of time just last year in which we had hoped for an imminent announcement, thanks to an intensification of the studio's social activities, but in the end everything ended in nothing.
