Electronic Arts and studio Full Circle today announced that skate., the next installment in the critically acclaimed skateboarding video game series, will arrive in early access on September 16. The title will be a free-to-play with support for cross-play and cross-progression, for an experience accessible to all.

Skate. will transport us to the vibrant city of San Vansterdam, an immense multiplayer open world where we can discover new spots, perform spectacular tricks and join friends online. The metropolis will consist of four distinct districts, Hedgemont, Gullcrest, Market Mile and Brickswich, each with its own challenges and unique atmosphere, transforming the entire map into a huge playground for skaters. Among parks, squares, rooftops and gigantic ramps, there will be no shortage of places to perform, such as the particular Skattedrale del Sacro Roll, a former church now used as a skate paradise.

At the heart of the skate gaming experience , we'll find a revamped and enhanced flick-it system, which will take advantage of the power of the Frostbite engine to offer unprecedented control and precision. In addition to the classic controls, a series of new tricks such as wallie, slappy and firecracker have been introduced, which will further enrich our performances. For those approaching the franchise for the first time, or for those who need a refresher, there will be the Skatepedia, a useful resource to master all the tricks and styles of skateboarding.

The exploration of the city will take on a new dimension, even vertically, thanks to the new "boardless" controls that will allow us to climb to find new epic spots. Added to this is the "quick positioning" function, with which we can place ramps, handrails, benches and other objects to give life to the spot of our dreams. The game world will also offer countless activities, such as rotating challenges on the map, Conquer the spot, Sessions and adrenaline-pumping Throwdowns to compete with friends. Thanks to the new Assist mode, we will also be able to immediately identify the action and teleport to any live session.

The Full Circle team emphasized that community feedback, collected during the testing phases, has been a priority in the development process and will continue to be so throughout the Early Access period. The developers have also confirmed that the game will receive new content every season, including additional challenges, cosmetics, music tracks, game world updates, and new events.

We leave you with the Early Access announcement trailer; enjoy!
