Crimson Desert postponed to early 2026

Bad news for those who were eagerly awaiting Crimson Desert, the new action-RPG by Pearl Abyss; In fact, the studio has announced that the release of the game has been postponed to the first quarter of 2026. The communication came during a recent meeting with investors, accompanied by an explanation of the reasons for this choice.

However, the development team was keen to emphasize that the marketing plans will not change: despite the postponement, the game will be present and playable for the first time at gamescom next week. Subsequently, in September, the same demo will also be available at the Tokyo Game Show, thus offering us two important opportunities to try out the open world build of the title.

During the investor conference, Pearl Abyss explained the reasons behind this difficult decision. The team said it is currently busy with voice acting and the certification process for consoles. The postponement of a quarter became "inevitable" due to longer than expected timelines, resulting from coordination and collaboration with multiple partners for physical distribution, dubbing themselves and other preparations necessary for the launch. The developers apologized for not being able to meet the previous launch window, but called this a "strategic decision" aimed at ensuring success on a large scale.

It is therefore confirmed that the new launch window for Crimson Desert is set for the first quarter of 2026, with a future announcement that will reveal a more precise date. It has also been specified that the final release date will not be revealed during Gamescom.
