During the ONL, Paradox Interactive surprisingly announced the launch of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 for October 21, after the game, announced in 2019, had lost its entire development team in 2021. We can now see it in its new form, decidedly more action and less adventure than in the past, and with a novelty: the presence of a second playable character, the Malkavian detective named Fabien.

In Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 we will wake up in modern-day Seattle as Phyre, an elderly vampire who after centuries of torpor finds himself with his powers sealed by a mysterious mark. However, his mind will be inhabited by Fabien's voice, and it is precisely by alternating the control of the two characters that we will experience the narrative of the game. As Phyre we will have to explore modern Seattle, interact with the different factions of vampires that rule the city and recover lost powers, all while trying to solve a mysterious murder that threatens Kindred society.

When Phyre rests, dreams and voices from Fabien's past will take over. In these sections we will find ourselves in the role of the detective in a neo-noir Seattle of the 20s, using his peculiar Malkavian skills to unravel the mystery behind his own murder. The challenge will be made more complex by Fabien's fragmented perception of reality, a characteristic of his blood that will make it difficult to distinguish fiction from truth.

The announcement also revealed the bonuses for those who pre-order the game, which include the Bloodlines Nostalgia Jukebox, an item for our shelter with a playlist of songs composed by Rik Schaffer, who already wrote the music of the original. The Deluxe Edition, containing the Santa Monica Memories cosmetic pack, and the Premium Edition, which in addition to the Deluxe content adds the Shadows & Silk expansion, which will allow us to choose the Lasombra or Toreador clans for Phyre, with unique skills, playstyles, and outfits.

The base game will give us the opportunity to choose between four clans: the Brujah rebels, the Tremere masters of blood sorcery, the Banu Haqim driven by justice and the persuasive Ventrue. As always, we will have to move carefully in the game world so as not to break the Masquerade, the absolute law that keeps the existence of vampires hidden from humanity, balancing our thirst for blood with the need for secrecy.
