LEGO Batman: The Dark Knight's Legacy announced at ONL
The game will invite us to follow Bruce Wayne's epic journey to become the hero of Gotham City, in a story that traces 86 years of iconic moments from movies, TV series, comics and games. The adventure will begin from the beginning, with a young Bruce Wayne who trains with the League of Shadows. Throughout the story we will be able to build a family of allies with characters such as Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl and Catwoman, who will help us face supervillains such as the Joker, The Penguin and Bane. Everything will obviously be seasoned with the classic LEGO humor of TT Games.
We will be able to face the adventure in solo mode or in two-player local co-op. The gameplay is based on a new dynamic combat system, with fluidly chained attacks, counterattacks and iconic KOs. We will have the classic bat-gadgets at our disposal, such as the Batarangs and the Bat-claw, while our partners will have personalized equipment, such as Catwoman's whip. For those looking for a more demanding challenge, there will also be the new difficulty levels "Caped Crusader" and "Dark Knight".
The game will be set in an open-world Gotham City full of crimes to foil, puzzles to solve, and rewards to collect. To explore it we can use the grappling hook, glide between buildings with the glider or speed through the streets with the Batmobile and the Batmoto. There will also be the Batcave, which we can customize to show off vehicles, trophies and a wide assortment of costumes. Finally, by creating a WB Games account it will be possible to unlock the Golden Age Batman Costume.
