ARC Raiders welcomes winter with the Cold Snap update: all the details and news
The main news concerns the climatic impact on the game locations: intense snowfall will hit the maps Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, Spaceport and The Blue Gate. In addition to a visual overhaul that includes accumulations of snow and frozen lakes, we will have to deal with reduced visibility and, above all, with the risk of frostbite. Being exposed to the cold for too long will slowly drain our health, forcing us to revise our tactics: we will have to plan extractions carefully, seek cover when necessary and manage equipment to heal ourselves or teammates from the piercing cold.
The winter event will run until January 13 , 2026 and will bring with it two specific activities. The first is "Flickering Flames", a resistance-based challenge that will allow us to unlock rewards on 25 levels, including equipment and cosmetic items, earning Merit through the XP obtained in the rounds (after playing at least five). At the same time, the "Candleberry Banquet Project" will be active, a 5-phase project that will require us to collect Candleberries and unique objects on the surface to set up a banquet and obtain additional prizes.
On the content front, the update introduces the second "Raider Deck" for free for all owners of the base game. Starting Friday, December 26, we will be able to access the Goalie Raider Deck, which includes a hockey-inspired Raider outfit with different color variants and a hockey stick-shaped tool. Unlike seasonal events, this content and related achievements will remain permanently accessible.
Finally, a new optional seasonal reset mechanic called "Expedition Project Raider" is introduced. By collecting the materials necessary to build a caravan, we will have the opportunity to reset our character's progress to start a new journey; This choice will grant us exclusive perks, buffs, and rewards that will be permanently carried over into the new game.
We leave you with the trailers of Cold Snap and Flickering Flames; enjoy!
