Square Enix has surprisingly announced the release on the Xbox Store of the playable demo of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the first episode of the remake of the historic JRPG, finally arriving on Xbox on January 22nd. The demo is available from today, downloadable through this page of the Store.

The demo allows us to experience the initial chapter of the game, in which Cloud Strife and the underground resistance group Avalanche attempt to destroy a Mako reactor that powers the dystopian city of Midgar. In our fight against the shadowy Shinra Electric Power Company, we will be thrust into a larger conflict that will decide the fate of the planet.

A very welcome aspect of this demo is the ability to transfer the progress of the demo to the full game once purchased, so that we can continue where we left off. In addition, those who have demo saves on their console will be able to redeem the "Earrings of Rebirth" and "Survival Sets" bonus items in the full game.
